The April 2013 meeting of the North Dallas R/C Club was called to order by Don Hafer on April 18th at 7 pm.

Previous month’s minutes were approved as posted on the website.

VISITORS/NEW MEMBERS –  Doug Wolfe from Bell Helicopter.

PRESIDENT'S REPORT-  Don Hafer.  Nothing to report.

SECRETARY – Bruce Lakatos.  Bruce read AMA rules per our Gold leader requirements.  Bruce also reported on upcoming RC events in the area.

VICE PRESIDENT – Charles Shafer. Charles had nothing to report..

TREASURER/MEMBERSHIP – Dave Cotton was absent.  Charles displayed the financial report.

SAFETY/ Dave Schaefer.  Dave Schaefer had no safety issues to report.

FIELD –  Dave Schaefer.  Field looks good and progress is continuing on table repairs. 6 are finished.  Please help keep them clean.  Art Wagner is continuing with weed control and special thanks to Ivan Shomer for helping us mow.  Bruce is looking for a volunteer to help with some painting.  Also thanks to Jody Matheson for rewiring and repairing the sound system at the field.  a new drop down extension cord donated by Dale O'Daniel  was installed.

SOUND- Billy Slater.  Billy is available to test any sound issues that may arise and will soon help the Richardson Club improve their existing sound rules.

TRAINING – Jim Williams noted that an aircraft was donated by John Reed for training purposes.  Norm Glowicz reported that we have 6 pilots in training and that we have 6 instructors.

WEBMASTER – Ken Sienski.  Ken is continuing with the improvements to our website.  Josh Kleen was not present for a Facebook report.

CD REPORTS –  The first float fly on April 27 is still on according to John Grubbs.  Indoor flying continues but will be reduced during the summer months. The Youth day is still on April 13th was a success.  Member's Family Day is still on for May 18.  Mike's Hobby Shop will have a swap meet on May 5.  Ed Kettler gave a brief report on the upcoming warbird event.

OLD BUSINESS- None.

NEW BUSINESS - None.

SHOW and TELL – Billy Slater showed his new Northstar.  Allen Buckner showed his new .60 size P 51 and Don Hafer showed his new 1SQ Quad copter.

RAFFLE- Jaques Parker conducted the monthly raffle sponsored by Mike's Hobby Shop and Roy's Hobbies in Hurst, TX.  Also the quarterly prize was the Denight Special 50 which was won By Bruce Lakatos.

PROGRAM - Doug Wolfe from Bell Helicopter gave a very informative presentation on the V22.

The February 2013 meeting of the North Dallas R/C Club was called to order by Don Hafer on February 21 at 7 pm.

Previous month’s minutes were approved as posted on the website.

VISITORS/NEW MEMBERS – Dale O'Daniel, Michael Sherman and Rex Lawrence

PRESIDENT'S REPORT-  Don Hafer.  The club thanks Greg Pulcini for the work he has done in maintaining the drink machines at the field.  Greg also presented a check to the club for $300 from the proceeds of the machines.

SECRETARY – Bruce Lakatos.  Bruce read AMA rules per our Gold leader requirements.  He also reminded club members that they must renew their AMA and that membership cards must be in the slot while flying, even with Spread Spektrum.   Bruce reminded everyone about the Tom Thumb rewards program and how it benefits our club.   Bruce also gave a progress report on the newly installed automatic gate and gave credit to all those involved.  He reported that the gate has been 100% paid for through donations from several club members.

VICE PRESIDENT – Charles Shafer. Charles went over the meeting programs for 2013 which was approved.  He notified everyone that Josh Kleen has offered to help with training and that 3 transmitters were donated to the club by Ivan Shomer and Dave Schaefer.  Next month's program will be the swap meet.

FIELD –  Dave Schaefer.  Field looks good and progress has begun on table repairs.  2 are finished.

SOUND- Billy Slater.  Billy is now trained to operate sound level testing equipment.

TRAINING – Jim Williams had nothing to report, Norm Glowicz welcomed Josh Kleen to the training team.

WEBMASTER – Ken Sienski.  Ken is going to continue the improvements to our website.  Also,  Josh Kleen has volunteered to help Ken link Facebook to our website.

CD REPORTS –  The first float fly is still tentative due to scheduling conflicts which are being worked out.  Indoor flying continues.  Also Don informed everyone of the upcoming demonstration at the Caron Center in Princeton, TX.

OLD BUSINESS- The membership voted to change the by-laws concerning types of membership, adding the "Associate Membership" option and eliminating the the clause which mirrored the AMA's membership options due to this change.

NEW BUSINESS - None.

SHOW and TELL – Don Hafer-  Blade MCPX.  John Grubbs- BN2.  Josh Kleen- ridiculously powered electric Jackel.  Ed Mullen-  10 cc Evolution gas engine.  Bob Locke- Bob had some items that he molded from epoxy.

The March 2013 meeting of the North Dallas R/C Club was called to order by Don Hafer on March 21 at 7 pm.

Previous month’s minutes were approved as posted on the website.

VISITORS/NEW MEMBERS –  George Keller-(new member)  Welcome George !

PRESIDENT'S REPORT-  Don Hafer.  The club put on a demonstration for the Caron House in Allen, Tx. which was a success and was enjoyed by the residents.

SECRETARY – Bruce Lakatos.  Bruce reported that the water cooler will be put back into service.  Bruce read AMA rules per our Gold leader requirements.  Bruce gave a progress report on the newly installed automatic gate and gave credit to all those involved.   Bruce credited Art Wagner for his efforts to keep runway weeds under control.  He also gave credit to Bob Locke for his help with our most recent mower repair.   We could use some help in the small engines dept, especially Briggs and Stratton 13.5hp - 19.5hp mower engines.  Bruce informed members of coming events at other nearby clubs.

VICE PRESIDENT – Charles Shafer. Charles reminded the membership of the upcoming Youth day on April 13. 2013.  He also reminded members that volunteers are need for the warbird event and the Warbird Over Texas website is now accepting registration for pilots.

FIELD –  Dave Schaefer.  Field looks good and progress is continuing on table repairs.  4 are finished and 2 of which are designated as electric only.  Please help keep them clean.  There are 4 mowers running now and the 5th is in repair.

SOUND- Billy Slater.  Billy is available to test any sound issues that may arise.

TRAINING – Jim Williams had nothing to report other than there is still training going on thrrough other members.

WEBMASTER – Ken Sienski.  Ken is continuing with the improvements to our website.  Josh Kleen reported that  the Facebook page appears to be a success so far.

OLD BUSINESS- John Reed inquired about the tax exemption status of which Dave Cotton is continuing to pursue with a tax reduction firm.

SHOW and TELL – Don Hafer- Don should his miniature Corsair glider.  Bob Locke- Bob showed how he repaired the valves in the head of the Swisher Mower.  We thank Bob for his efforts.  Also a reminder that Mike's Hobby Shop will have it's swap meet on May 5, 2013.

Bruce Lakatos was awarded a certificate of recognition from club president Don Hafer at the January meeting.  Bruce has invested many hours in maintaining and improving our flying site over the past year.  He was instrumental in organizing the runway resealing project and the recent renovation of the pit facilities.  Thanks Bruce!
