The March 2013 meeting of the North Dallas R/C Club was called to order by Don Hafer on March 21 at 7 pm.
Previous month’s minutes were approved as posted on the website.
VISITORS/NEW MEMBERS – George Keller-(new member) Welcome George !
PRESIDENT'S REPORT- Don Hafer. The club put on a demonstration for the Caron House in Allen, Tx. which was a success and was enjoyed by the residents.
SECRETARY – Bruce Lakatos. Bruce reported that the water cooler will be put back into service. Bruce read AMA rules per our Gold leader requirements. Bruce gave a progress report on the newly installed automatic gate and gave credit to all those involved. Bruce credited Art Wagner for his efforts to keep runway weeds under control. He also gave credit to Bob Locke for his help with our most recent mower repair. We could use some help in the small engines dept, especially Briggs and Stratton 13.5hp - 19.5hp mower engines. Bruce informed members of coming events at other nearby clubs.
VICE PRESIDENT – Charles Shafer. Charles reminded the membership of the upcoming Youth day on April 13. 2013. He also reminded members that volunteers are need for the warbird event and the Warbird Over Texas website is now accepting registration for pilots.
TREASURER/MEMBERSHIP – Dave Cotton was absent. Charles displayed the financial report.
SAFETY/ Dave Schaefer. Dave Schaefer had no safety issues to report.
FIELD – Dave Schaefer. Field looks good and progress is continuing on table repairs. 4 are finished and 2 of which are designated as electric only. Please help keep them clean. There are 4 mowers running now and the 5th is in repair.
SOUND- Billy Slater. Billy is available to test any sound issues that may arise.
TRAINING – Jim Williams had nothing to report other than there is still training going on thrrough other members.
WEBMASTER – Ken Sienski. Ken is continuing with the improvements to our website. Josh Kleen reported that the Facebook page appears to be a success so far.
CD REPORTS – The first float fly is still tentative due to conflicts which are being worked out according to John Grubbs. Indoor flying continues. The Youth day is still on for April 13th and volunteers are still needed and hot dogs will be served.
OLD BUSINESS- John Reed inquired about the tax exemption status of which Dave Cotton is continuing to pursue with a tax reduction firm.

SHOW and TELL – Don Hafer- Don should his miniature Corsair glider. Bob Locke- Bob showed how he repaired the valves in the head of the Swisher Mower. We thank Bob for his efforts. Also a reminder that Mike's Hobby Shop will have it's swap meet on May 5, 2013.
RAFFLE- Jaques Parker conducted the monthly raffle sponsored by Mike's Hobby Shop and Roy's Hobbies in Hurst, TX. Also the quarterly prize was the Denight Special 50 which was won By Bruce Lakatos.
PROGRAM -Drone Video continued and annual club swap meet.
