NDRCC Presentation to Settlers Ridge Nursing Home Residents
On Dec. 2, 2011, Charles Shafer and Woody Woods, members of the North Dallas RC Club, entertained about 30 residents and staff at the Settlers Ridge Nursing Home in Celina, Texas. Various indoor models, including an Air Swimmer Parrot Fish, were demonstrated in the facility dining room and successfully steered around the hanging light fixtures. Several residents and staff members took a turn at piloting the Parrot Fish.
The attendees included 2 WW2 pilots and several residents who actually helped build warplanes in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area during WW2. While we had a few residents who slept during the presentation which lasted about an hour,  the majority of residents enjoyed the program and made us promise to come back again next year.
